Club Deportivo Leganes revealed their new 2020/21 home shirt from Joma. Two blue stripes in the center of the shirt combine with the white and gold details to highlight the pepineros’ badge.
Why Leganes players are called “pepineros”? This singular nickname dates back to the time when Leganes was an agricultural village with growing orchards, from which the inhabitants made their living and also supplied the capital with their products.

Vegetables were much demanded and among them the most popular of all was the cucumber (Pepino). Therefore, people who lived in the area were known as “pepineros” and although now they are far less orchards in this Madrid town the nickname has lasted until today.

The new 2020/21 home shirt includes the motto “Soñando desde 1928” (“Dreaming since 1928”) on the back of the neck and has Betway, Ynsadiet and KFC as sponsors. Dione is also present in the short which also counts with gold details.
