Chippa United boss Siviwe ‘Chippa’ Mpengesi said on Wednesday that he will “defend” Luc Eymael after the Belgian coach was appointed as head coach.
In an interview with Robert Marawa on Marawa Sport Show, Mpengesi said, “I know why Luc Eymael was fired from his last job, but that was allegations. The answer that he gave me I was satisfied with it.
“I am not going to entertain that because those allegations were not tested in court of law.
“If SAFA (South African Football Association) do what they say they will do I will challenge them, I am not afraid of them and they must focus on their mandate or I will embarrass them.
“If they SAFA go to the Minister, I will also go to the Minister. Luc Eymael is not banned by anyone including FIFA.
“He wrote a letter to SAFA and they did not respond. Danny Jordaan must just leave my coach alone.
“I am going to defend Luc Eymael, we have appointed him as our coach. We cannot judge people based on allegations. Luc Eymael is prepared to clear his name.”
