Bayern Munich II, who are the reserve team of German club Bayern Munich, have signed striker Dimitri Oberlin from Basel on a free transfer.
Oberlin was born on September 27, 1997 in Yaounde (Cameroon) and thus does not yet fall into the 23+ age regulation for second teams.
After his youth at FC Zurich, the one-off Swiss national player played for RB Salzburg, FC Empoli, Zulte Waregem and FC Basel, among others.
At the top Swiss club he had his best time in the 2017/18 season with four goals in the Champions League group stage.
“We were looking for reinforcements for our offense since Leon Dajaku switched to Union Berlin. Dimitri has already proven his skills at the highest level in the past. We are very happy that he has joined our young team and we are convinced that he can help us quickly,” said campus director Jochen Sauer.
