The VfL Wolfsburg 2021/22 kit will not only be seen on the pitch, because together with Volkswagen and the Autostadt, VfL will once again provide a special framework campaign for the unveiling of the Nike kit.

“#Nachtschicht” (night shift), the motto of the campaign, stands for the story of the underdog, who has battled with a lot of heart and hard work to reach the top – just as the Wolves have done in the table.

With the hashtag “Nachtschicht” (night shift), VfL also underlines its close connection with Volkswagen and its home in Wolfsburg. The new kit is also designed to reflect that. Harking back to the city and club’s DNA, its modern design is based on the prototype car known as an “Erlkönig”, and thus stands for engineering and innovation.

The new away shirt also has nostalgic touches, as the dark green tones are reminiscent of the club’s colours from the 70s and 80s. The sky-blue kit remains part of the Wolves’ apparel and will continue to be used in the new season.

The new VfL Wolfsburg kit that players will wear on the pitch as well as the replica jerseys for the fans are constructed with 100% recycled polyester fabric, which is made from recycled plastic bottles.

This creates a kit that delivers peak performance with a lower impact on the environment. Plastic bottles are collected, cleaned and melted down to produce a high-quality yarn for manufacturing and is part of Nike’s wider Move to Zero initiative with football apparel leading the way in sustainability.

No other sport captures global attention like the beautiful game and this is why since 2010, Nike has been using recycled polyester to produce football kits. Each year, Nike diverts one trillion plastic bottles from landfills and waterways by creating and designing with recycled polyester.
