Brazilian side CR Flamengo have unveiled a special edition ‘Excelência Negra’ (Black Excellence) shirt in conjunction with adidas.
The design from adidas represents the first time “Colorado” have worn black and it is intended as an element of the “Consciência Negra” (Black Consciousness) initiative.
The new shirt is predominantly black with details from the Excelência Negra manifesto included within its numbers.
A golden Afro hairstyle with the phrase “É a Coroa” stamped throughout it is placed at the center chest. The phrase is inspired by the iconic saying of Babu Santana, a Flamengo fan and leader in Brazilian racial justice activism.
