Amajita COSAFA U20 Championship provisional squad revealed

South Africa’s National Under-20 (Amajita) side are in camp preparing for this year’s upcoming COSAFA Men’s Under-20 Championship.

The tournament is set to run from 3 – 13 December in Port Elizabeth. 

Amajita coach Helman Mkhalele has roped in 28 players for his provisional squad out of which, he will select his final 20 that will represent South Africa at this year’s COSAFA Region football tournament. 

In this year’s tournament, Amajita are pitted in Group A alongside side neighbors Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Lesotho; where they will fight for a top two finish in order to progress into the knockout rounds of the competition. 

Amajita will first face Zimbabwe on 3 December at the Wolfson Stadium at 15h30, before locking horns with Lesotho,three days later, at the very same match venue and kick-off time.

Amajita’s final group match will take place on 8 December against Mozambique at the Wolfson Stadium at 15h30. 

South Africa’s National Under-20 (Amajita) Provisional Squad:

Goalkeepers: Olwethu Mzimela, Bontle Molefe, Sipho Maseti. 

Defenders: Nkosikhona Radebe, Kyle Coimbra, Nelson Ralankoana, Athenkosi Mcaba, Paul Makola, Macbeth Mahlangu.

Midfielders: Rivaldo Present, Sydney Malivha, Bilal Baloyi, Boikanyo Sekotlong, Mpho Mathebula, Sandile Nyundu, Tshepo Myeni, Ethan Brooks, Rowan Human, Jayden Adams, Selaela Rasebotja, Keletso Sifama, Oswin Appollis, Katlego Tsotetsi, Rahim Milazi, Sechaba Ramosedi. 

Strikers: Sinenjongo Mkiva, Lindokuhle Zungu, Ndumiso Xulu, Keenan Bezuidenhout.
